Cuts4Kids event gets kids ready for school
W&L Subaru of Northumberland, PA, hosted a back to school, "Cuts for Kids," event on Saturday, August 19, 2023. This special day was for students in grades K through 2 in area school districts. W&L brought in the best-of-the-best from local barber & salons to make sure children received a top-notch haircut. The event was a huge success and served over 55 children.Â
On top of getting free, high-quality haircuts from local professional barbers and beauticians, families also received free school supplies, meals from several food trucks, and ice cream for dessert. Special thanks to our friends from Top Shelf Barber Co., One More Cut Barbershop, Mane Beauty by Stevi, and Gentleman's Barbershop for cutting, trimming and styling all the kids.Â
"I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this back-to-school event. It was a pleasure making sure all who participated looked their best and to be back to school ready." said Stevi Llyod of Mane Beauty. Giovanni of Gentleman's Barbershop stated, "At Gentleman's Barbershop, we truly believe look good, feel good. Feel good, do good. A haircut can help boost self-esteem, instill confidence, and do wonders for a kid…".Â
"We were all blown away by the amount of care and kindness. Not only did they give the kids haircuts, back to school items, a chance at giveaways, but they let the kids order from each food truck. There is no local business that cares about their community like W&L. Everyone we met was above and beyond kind, truly the best customer service and no gimmicks. Thank you for such an amazing day." said Angela Knoebel, parent and event attendee.Â
Everyone in attendance got to enjoy local food trucks as they served light refreshments all day. To top it all off, each kiddo walked away with free, cool back-to-school supplies.Â
A special thank you to the food truck partners at Williams Catering, Backwoods Bar and Kitchen, and The Rollin' Cones for keeping guests fed and refreshed. This event was a big hit and a great way to start the school year and another way W&L had a positive impact in the community.
