We've been proud to call Northumberland, Pennsylvania home for over 50 years. In a town of just 4,000 people and hours away from any major city, we knew that we couldn't rely on location or population to grow. So, we focused on something else: people.
Whether it's in the showroom, the service bay, or out in the community, we've always believed in showing up for others in ways that matter. From the beginning, our philosophy has been simple: just say yes, or at least try our best to. That mindset has guided us in everything we do, from supporting local charities and servicing first responder vehicles to ensuring every customer feels taken care of. That commitment to doing things the right way has helped us become one of the top sales volume Subaru retailers in the country.
But more importantly, it's inspired people to drive from miles away to visit us-and tell others to do the same. We're incredibly grateful for that kind of trust and loyalty. Driving Out Hunger with the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank
Through our Driving Out Hunger campaign, we will provide an ongoing monthly sponsorship through our Subaru Loves To Help initiative, paired with volunteer engagements to deliver crucial support to help the Food Bank purchase, pack, and distribute nutritious food to families and individuals facing food insecurity across Central Pennsylvania.
Paddlers Support Local Conservation at the W&L Subaru Paddle Happy Jumbo
The Northcentral Pennsylvania Conservancy (NPC), W&L Subaru, and Bad Adventures welcomed more than 30 paddlers to the inaugural W&L Subaru Paddle Happy Jumbo on Saturday, July 19. The one-day paddle trip along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River gave participants an opportunity to experience the River through a guided paddle while supporting conservation work across the region.
W&L Subaru Supports Healing Through Horses at Eos Therapeutic Riding Center
The Eos Therapeutic Riding Center, located near Bloomsburg, PA, has been a beacon of hope since its establishment in 1992. The center provides unique equine-assisted therapy programs for children and adults with special needs, including those facing mental, physical, and emotional challenges, as well as veterans.

Thursday, April 24, 2025 - W&L Subaru was honored to present their 2024 Share The Love Hometown Charity partners with checks at our dealership. We hand-delivered over $150,000 to our friends at Children's Miracle Network at Geisinger in Danville and Haven Ministry Center in Sunbury. These funds will directly support their vital missions of caring for pediatric patients and those experiencing homelessness.

Trees are vital to this effort- they provide oxygen, cool our community, filter water, clean the air, prevent flooding, and improve health. But every year, our community loses trees due to age, disease, infestation, and extreme weather.

Helping others is the key to a strong community and one of our guiding principles here at W&L Subaru. Through the Subaru Loves to Help initiative, we teamed up with Operation Warm and Union-Snyder Community Action Agency to provide children with the resources they need to thrive in our local community.

Back To School Cuts4Kids: A Day for the Community
On Saturday, August 10, 2024, we held our second annual Back To School Cuts4Kids event. From 9am to 4pm, we welcomed nearly 200 children and their families from area school districts into the dealership for a free haircut and school supplies.
W&L Subaru Adopts Classrooms at Oaklyn & Priestley Elementary Schools
For the 2024 school year, W&L Subaru partnered with Shikellamy School District to adopt classrooms at both Priestley and Oaklyn Elementary Schools. Combining both elementary schools, we were able to impact over 600 students across 20 classrooms. Our support empowered teachers with essential learning tools and resources to make a difference in the lives of the students in your community.

Stocking the Care Closet
Nestled in the hills of Coal Township, at the Ressler Pediatric Clinic of Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital, a team of doctors and staff are on a mission to provide essential items for underserved families and children through a program they've affectionately dubbed "The Care Closet."Â
Changing kids health, changing the future
Miracles happen every day at Geisinger in Danville, PA, but those miracles can't happen without help from the community. W&L Subaru is honored to have been a partner with Children's Miracle Network at Geisinger's Janet Weis Children's Hospital since 2012. Through sales efforts we have been able to directly benefit children in northeastern and central Pennsylvania by strengthening the pediatric care and services that Geisinger provides every day.
Love For Liam
Those of you in the central Susquehanna Valley might have heard of a brave little boy named Liam. Liam was diagnosed with diffuse midline glioma, an aggressive brain tumor, in April 2023.  As Liam's story and his "Liam's Bucket List" began circling social media, the W&L team was quick to react and reach out to the family.Â
W&L Subaru Partners with Haven Ministry, Fueling Expansion Project
In December 2023, Haven Ministry began construction on an expansion that will increase their capacity by more than double. Currently, they have eight rooms, and the expansion will add 9 more. W&L Subaru added Haven Ministry, a nonprofit organization that provides shelter and food to those in need, as one of their 2023 hometown charities during the Subaru Share The Love Event as a way to help raise funds for their expansion project.Â
Love for the Litchards
"Your child has cancer" - Four words no parent ever wants to hear. For the Litchard family of Sunbury, this was their reality back October 2023. Alec, a 5th grader at Chief Shikellamy, who loves playing football and baseball, is currently undergoing treatment at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for his recently diagnosed cancer.Â
W&L Subaru partners with Northcentral Pennsylvania Conservancy
NPC and its partners have been working to stabilize the streambank and restore the health of Turtle Creek in Union County over the past several years. One of the ways we do this is by planting a riparian buffer of native species along the streambank. Each spring, these buffer zones need some maintenance to give the new plantings the best chance to reach maturity and do their jobs! This year, that's where W&L Subaru came to help.
Test Drives Benefiting Local Veterans
At W&L Subaru, we love our Veterans, their families, and the sacrifices they gave for our freedom. That's why, in November 2023, for every Certified Pre-Owned Subaru sold, we donated $50 to The Vet Center of Williamsport, who offers confidential help for Veterans, service members, and their families at no-cost in a non-medical setting. This donation will go a long way in their continued support of serving those who served our country.
Bringing the community together, supporting all children with diverse abilities
Everyone's Playground, located in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, is an all-inclusive, barrier-free playground created to accommodate children and others with special needs, disabilities, and other challenging conditions. The final phase of Everyone's Playground was the addition of an ADA Compliant Comfort-Changing Station/Restroom for individuals and their caregivers. However, there was one major obstacle in the way, a fundraising goal of $80,000 to complete the project.
Back To School Cuts4Kids
W&L brought in the best-of-the-best from local barber & salons to make sure children received a top-notch haircut. The event was a huge success and served over 55 children. This special day was for students in grades K through 2 in area school districts.
Series of Events Raise Funds, Awareness For Local Library
The day was lively with anticipation as we prepared to host a fantastic Community Party as part of a Subaru Loves Learning event, with the primary intention being to increase awareness of the fundamental importance of the Milton Public Library to the Milton, PA community. A sales-driven fundraising campaign in August of 2023 led to much-needed, additional funding for the library, too!
Providing Warmth, Love, and Relief
W&L Subaru believes we all should have a chance to lead a healthy life. Through our partnership with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS), Subaru and its retailers, like us, will have supported nearly 300,000 cancer patients nationwide by the end of this year. Together, we are proud to be LLS's largest automotive donor. During the month of June 2023, W&L Subaru in Northumberland, PA partnered with LLS and Geisinger to deliver warm blankets, encouraging messages of hope, and cuddly teddy bears to support patients facing cancer.
W&L Revitalizes Playground for Early-Learning Center
Through Subaru Loves the Earth®, W&L and team donated their time to revitalize a tired playground in Mifflinburg. SUMMIT Early Learning is a non-profit serving children and their families in Union County.Â
W&L Subaru's Generosity Helps Dedicated Employee in Need
John Briner is a dedicated man. Not just to his work, but also to his family. In early May of 2023, John was faced with a difficult situation when he was hospitalized with serious health issues. Unable to work for two weeks, John's absence from both jobs placed an enormous financial burden on him and his family.Â
A Helping Hand For The Martins
In October 2023, Gideon Martin, 2, was scheduled to have surgery at CHOP and to stay overnight for observation. On the drive down the night before The Martins were about a mile away from their hotel when the car began to make noise, shake, and ultimately the right front tire came completely off.Â
In January of 2024 a new idea came to light. W&L Subaru held a test drive fundraiser to help the Martins. The results were absolutely amazing...
Our efforts to help Ukraine, one special family at the start of a war
As a Subaru retailer, we pride ourselves on not just achieving financial success but making a tangible difference in people's lives. Over the course of 2022, we have accomplished significant charitable feats, including donating $25,000 to the iBelieve Church to assist with Ukrainian aid efforts, providing transport and sustenance for several Ukrainian families, and investing $50,000 to aid the relocation and establishment of Nadiya and her family in the US.Â
