Love For Liam
Liam was a courageous young man who loved animals, going to waterparks, dinosaurs, sharks, riding his motorcycle, playing Roblox, singing, dancing, spending time with his family and joking around with everyone to get a smile from them.Â
After 15 long months, and many hospital visits, sadly Liam's battle ended on August 1, 2024. He passed away at home surrounded by his loving family, who never gave up hope and fought alongside him. To continue to fight for a cure, memorial contributions may be made to the Liam Huggler's Fundraiser at The Cure Starts Now by going to bit.ly/LiamsTribute
Those of you in the central Susquehanna Valley might have heard of a brave little boy named Liam.
Liam was diagnosed with diffuse midline glioma, an aggressive brain tumor, in April 2023. He completed radiation for the first time in July 2023. Liam did well for a while, but right before Christmas, he went into rapid progression and the tumor doubled in size in 2 short months. The doctor sent him home with hospice and palliative care, preparing for the worst. Not giving up hope, Liam's family found a different doctor at a hospital a little further from home who renewed hope for Liam. This new doctor was quick to develop Liam's plan and he is now receiving chemo and radiation and seeing improvements.
As Liam's story and his "Liam's Bucket List" began circling social media, the W&L team was quick to react and reach out to the family. Without hesitation, W&L, with the help from Subaru of America, secured Baltimore Aquarium tickets and worked on tickets to an Eagles game. To outfit Liam for his adventures, aquarium-themed gear was given to Liam, plus an Eagle's jersey of his favorite player, Jalen Hurts, and an Eagles football that he can have signed while at the game. To help offset the travel and medical costs involved in Liam's treatment, a financial donation was also made to the family.

We want to first thank Liam's family for inviting the W&L team into their house and allowing us to spend some time with Liam. The love and support you all show for your son is beyond amazing. Spending only a short time with Liam, we quickly can see where Liam gets his kind and loving heart.
We cannot imagine what every day looks like, and the journey Liam's family have been on. Just hearing your diagnosis story and some of the hardships make us wonder how they continue to get up and keep moving each morning with new challenges. However, we think we know why they do it... They are a tight-knit family who will never let anything get in their way of doing all that they can to protect and provide for their child. They wake up and somehow do it.Â
We are so happy to be just a small part of Liam's journey and if you'd like to contribute to Liam's care fund, please visit the GoFundMe link.
