The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank is a nonprofit organization committed to ending hunger in 27 counties across central Pennsylvania. By working with nearly 1,100 local agencies and programs, the Food Bank servs nearly 268,000 people in need each month through our three Healthy Food Hubs, located in Harrisburg, Williamsport, and Hollidaysburg.
The Traveling Library provides quality library services in underserved rural areas throughout Columbia County. Through the bookmobile, branch libraries, and the online library, we build strong communities by offering access to books, information, and lifelong learning opportunities for all.
The Central PA Center in Danville (Montour County) reflects the PSPCA’s diverse community, spanning both urban and rural regions. The 5-acre center plays a pivotal role in our fight against cruelty and neglect by providing safe haven for horses and barnyard animals, in addition to dogs and cats.
Established in 1992 to provide therapeutic horseback riding activities for mentally, physically, and emotionally challenged children and adults. Eos (pronounced EE-ose) is a shortened form of the word Eohippus, the first horse of evolution. What began as a local ministry has grown into a global mission to share the love of Jesus beyond the walls of a church, and into the villages of Uganda, with children who are hungry for the truth, joy, and belonging.
Mostly Mutts is 501(c)3 non-profit, no-kill dog shelter has been in existence since 2000. The owner of the shelter is Cheryl Hill. She purchased the property with 13 acres and began the shelter with only a few dogs.
The Northcentral Pennsylvania Conservancy (NPC) is a land trust devoted to conserving and enhancing the lands and waters of Northcentral Pennsylvania to support the environmental well-being and recreational needs of local communities.
Susquehanna Kids is an online resource for caregivers and local businesses in the Susquehanna River Valley area (i.e. Columbia, Montour, Snyder, Union and Northumberland counties). The FIND IT section has over 150 kid-friendly businesses and locations to sort through. The SK Activities Calendarhas more than 200 events each month, weekly BLOGS bring you the information that you need to know. Their handy GUIDES provide you time saving lists and weekly EMAILS bring it all to YOU.
Our mission is to reduce poverty in Union and Snyder Counties through self-sufficiency initiatives for families and individuals in collaboration with our community partners.
We envision a future where all residents of Union and Snyder Counties have equal opportunity to reach their full social, civic, and economic potential.
