Central Pennsylvania Food Bank

Driving Out Hunger

July 2025 - W&L Subaru kicked off a 6-month partnership with the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank to help combat hunger and food insecurity in the Susquehanna Valley. Through our Driving Out Hunger campaign, we will provide an ongoing monthly sponsorship through our Subaru Loves To Help initiative, paired with volunteer engagements to deliver crucial support to help the Food Bank purchase, pack, and distribute nutritious food to families and individuals facing food insecurity across Central Pennsylvania.

Our monthly donations, totaling $12,000 over 6 months will be used to provide 48,000 meals to neighbors in the food bank's 27-county service area. But it's not only about donating financially.

A Triple Threat: Advocate, Donate & Participate

Our team of volunteers visited the food bank's Williamsport packing and distribution hub to get more hands-on, and in just over one hour, packed 200 boxes of food to be distributed through Central Pennsylvania Food Bank's Military Share program.

This special program is designed to provide fresh, nutritious foods-like produce, eggs, and milk, along with pantry staples-for families with at least one member who has served or is currently serving in the armed forces.

Why did we get involved?

The more appropriate question was, why not? The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank services a vast, 27-county area and the statistics below highlight the growing need for their support and the needs in our community and beyond. These individuals and families are our neighbors, and if there's one thing W&L Subaru excels at, it's supporting the community we serve.
